Dr Lawlor's career in academic history included research fellowships at Sidney Sussex and Churchill Colleges, University of Cambridge, before joining the Centre for Policy Studies as its Deputy Director. Dr Lawlor went on to found Politeia (www.politeia.co.uk), which is a forum for social and economic thinking. She directs the economic program and writes on education, benefits and healthcare policy. Her numerous media appearances include joining Jeremy Vine on the Jeremy Vine Show as a commentator. Dr Lawlor stood as a European Parliamentary Candide in the 2014 European Parliamentary Election for the London Region. She campaigned with Bethnal Green and Bow Conservatives on many occasions in Bow.
