It is great to see the Isle of Dogs doing so well on the back of all the investment put in by the last Conservative government, but what has happened since? Under Labour, the regeneration of Tower Hamlets seems to have stopped at the docks and other than thousands of 1 bed, buy-to-let flats, what did they deliver? They banged on for thirteen years about the Thames Gateway, leaving us with lots of quangos and bureaucrats, but little to show by way of real development. People worry about getting a job or finding a home, but apart from the Olympics, what did Labour actually deliver for East London?
Gordon Brown spent all the money and racked up billions in debts. Now Livingstone wants a second chance. No thank you, Ken, not again.
