Institute for Fiscal Studies say Labour will still be borrowing £30bn a year by 2020 if it forms part of a UK government on 7thMay.
Labour spending plans have come under scrutiny by Paul Johnson, Institute for Fiscal Studies, who concluded that Labour would still be borrowing heavily by the end of this decade if they get back in to power.
IFS Director Paul Johnson told the BBC: “They [Labour] don’t want to get rid of the deficit altogether… They would be happy with a deficit of £25- £30 billion where as the Conservatives don’t want a deficit at all”.
Bethnal Green and Bow Conservative PPC Matt Smith said: “We have promised to end borrowing for day to day spending and investment spending by 2018 and we could, according”.
