Matt Smith said: “The digital revolution has transformed economically disadvantage corners of London. Now we must make that legacy last for our communities here in Bethnal Green and Bow”.
“We need to respond creatively to these opportunities and ensure we can take the best of the Shoreditch model and apply it locally”.
“We need to think hard about improving the quality of computing in schools, promote the terms of self-employment and above all else help ensure that young people living locally can access job opportunities in the digital economy”.
“We must do more to grow local digital talent. We must expand the community of ‘digital leaning programmes’ that have developed out of Tech City such as Code Club, Codezoners, Makers Academy and Tech City Apprenticeships. They are already making a big contribution to building bridges between digital firms and young people living locally”.
“We need local leadership to help ensure schools are fully synched in to these programmes”.
